Sayaka Miki Magical Dress Cosplay Design Draft by Hollitaima Sayaka Miki Magical Dress Cosplay Design Draft by Hollitaima
The fourth of my Puella magi cosplay pattern draft series. It's a wierd outfit, this...would need to be tight and fitted in vital areas but loose in others (glad I'll probably never have to make it :'L)

Pattern sizing help:

Here’s a tutorial I made on making body contouring patterns
even for less fitted things it can be used to make a simple pattern to size up all my pattern drafts on…

Thank you for this graphic, it really is helping me visualize the costume better.

I do not understand the skirt part of the pattern. Can you elaborate on it a little? It looks to me like there's only one box pleat per side, and i don't know what the notch is?

I know that this may seem like an extremely unintelligent question but how exactly do I download these so that I can actually use them for a pattern? :iconsweatdropplz:

Are there any specific instructions that I need to follow?

Hey there! On the right hand side of the page below various suggested images there will be a tiny blue link with a green arrow saying download image :3

As I am still yet to produce a video explaining the exact way I personally size my patterns... u,u *need to get that done*

The easiest way to transcribe them, would be to take measurements of your body and along with throw away clothes that fit, draft out the various shapes into a size that fits you and is even across the whole way across.

In this particular pattern the only real gathering is for the frilled edges where you just push the dotted lines together and sew to create pleats and on the skirt where box pleats are formed *theres a good box pleat tutorial on youtube*

^ in both these cases you need to have the correct measurement for the actual size you want, and then the pleating excess on top

I hope this helps, rather than adds confusion...which I fear it will u,u;

Hi :) there is a link to download but it only gives me the same image but a bit bigger, or is that how it's needed to be done?
btw I love this! I know how to sew well and I usually take patterns from a book and adapt them, but it can give you a lot of mistakes and problems, I know people who make cosplay without any patterns whatsoever and make a great work but I've never done it so this would help a lot
